For this project, I want to integrate animations with one of my passions: mountain biking. For this assignment I want to create some sort of seamless video that doesn’t cut in and/out of full animation, at least not much at all, and instead integrates animation into videos of myself mountain biking that tell an interesting story. I think the best example of this would be the example of Graham’s work, which blended an animation of two stick figures falling in love with a misty bathroom scene that was creating the animation,

I’d like to tell a story where I’m going on a mountain bike ride, have a friendly encounter with a fairy/mountain sprite that follows me through the forest. After making contact, he then follows me down various trails as composite shots containing both the raw footage, and the animation skipping over it. It will end with myself going off a jump and landing although the sprite will keep flying and then reappear far away later on in order to say a proper goodbye. It was also great for the sprite to have a wholesome vibe to him, and a childlike-innocence when he is riding along with me in the video. I plan on shooting footage for the animation in a way in which I can both acknowledge and highlight where in the video the sprite is, and give him time to appear as needed.Similar to my previous zine project I feel the theme could also be about childhood joy.
