Artist Statement:
This project was an amazing fun way to end the semester. I enjoyed getting to make GIFS and try and build an interactive story tat explored my home mountain of Marin. I hadn't made GIFS before and was surprised at how simple and intuitive they were to make in photoshop. I will definitely be using the timeline workspace more in photoshop in the future as I didn't previously know that was even a feature. It was also useful to learn how these Gifs sit on webpages, and all of the capabilities of Wix. I am currently paying a reasonable amount for a domain name and a Squarespace subscription for my personal portfolio, and after using Wix for the whole semester, am considering switching over.
Storyboard:

My final product didn't deviate much from my original plan, although I quickly realized with how many different stages/webpages I had for my Web venture that I needed to make a storyboard to stay organized. After creating this with all my image assets, I created my GIFS, some of which acted as transitions to the next webpage, and some that were stand alone webpages. Since Marin and Mt Tamalpais are so near and dear to my heart, I also decided to add a link to a webpage explaining the history of Mt. Tamalpais at the end of the Web venture so that the viewer could read more about it.
All said and done, I greatly enjoyed taking DA1 this fall. While it was quite a bit of work, I'm happy to ave improved my skills using all the softwares in the class, and plan to try and implement them more into my design work outside of this class!
